Verizon deploys OC48 router to router

Verizon Business has deployed one of the first router-to-router 40Gbps (OC-768) circuits carrying live traffic using Juniper Networks high-performance T-series core routers. These fully functional 40Gbps (gigabits per second) interconnections between backbone routers are carrying production Internet traffic between Washington D.C. and Chicago as well as production voice, data and video traffic on Verizon’s multi protocol label switching (MPLS) network between Washington D.C. and New York City.

Verizon Business Provides Rate That Gives Wholesale Customers Greater Ability to Manage Costs

Verizon Business is offering wholesale customers an additional pricing option that provides a detailed breakdown of the rates that are used to calculate the customers’ monthly bills for Verizon Business’ network services.

The new pricing option, Operating Company Number (OCN)-Based Billing, provides rates based on the underlying local exchange carrier (LEC) and geographic region for delivering voice and IP calls over the Verizon Business global network. Verizon Managed Private IP Network for Global-Packaging

Verizon Business today announced the successful deployment of an extensive Managed Private IP network for Elopak, the global packaging group. Elopak, the inventors of the first paperboard carton, has connected 40 offices across Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East using a managed Verizon Business MPLS network. Verizon Business Centralizes IFS Network

The new agreement extends the companies’ existing relationship and calls for Verizon Business to implement an MPLS-based Managed Private IP network that will centralize all of IFS’ network management at its headquarters, while also providing an ultra-reliable and secure connection between key IFS hub sites in Sri Lanka, Sweden and the U.S. The Verizon Business WAN replaces infrastructure previously supported by an array of different suppliers.
