Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) today announced it is expanding its wholesale agent program, allowing Qwest-certified wholesale agents to sell the full portfolio of Qwest services throughout the entire United States and internationally. Previously, agents were limited to specific products and services in 36 U.S. states and internationally. By expanding the program, wholesale agents may now sell Qwest solutions in 14 additional states, creating a nationwide program.
“The expanded program is going to create more opportunities and provide customers with a full set of products and services,” said Michael Leigh of Hale Communications, Qwest-certified wholesale agent. “Having the freedom to compete for business throughout the U.S. will greatly enhance our ability to sell Qwest’s nationwide portfolio of services. The Qwest wholesale agent program is among the best in the industry.”
“We’re focused on growing our business, and to do so, we constantly evaluate programs in order to reach as many customers as possible with Qwest services,” said Roland Thornton, executive vice president, wholesale markets for Qwest. “The expansion of the wholesale agent program underscores our commitment to enhancing revenue from our wholesale channel. The program differentiates us from other wholesale providers and is a positive force for our business.”
The Qwest wholesale agent program was launched in 2004 to uncover “new-to-Qwest” business opportunities with customers via companies qualified and certified to represent Qwest’s wholesale products and services to other qualified telecom carriers, resellers and service providers.
In addition to the Qwest wholesale agent program, Qwest Business Partner Program (QBPP) enables agents to provide their retail business customers with high-quality voice, data and IP services.
Companies interested in joining any of these programs can visit Qwest at the Channel Partners Conference and Expo at booth # 711 or on the Web at qwest.com/partners or qwest.com/wholesale.
