AT&T Inc. has been awarded a two-year, $3.6 million contract to implement an Internet Protocol-based (IP-based) network for Skanska USA Building Inc., a national leader in the commercial construction industry.
Under the contract, AT&T will design and deploy an IP network that standardizes voice services and features across 25 Skanska sites nationwide. Skanska employees will enjoy increased mobility between locations as well as advanced video-conferencing capabilities. The AT&T solution leverages Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology that prioritizes network traffic, ensuring quality voice calls, uninterrupted communications and business continuity.
"AT&T is providing us with reliable, secure and flexible means to seamlessly connect our staff, regardless of their location," said Chris Stockley, senior vice president and chief information officer of Skanska. "The solution is easy to manage and will significantly increase our productivity and customer service."
By leveraging the secure AT&T BusinessDirect® portal, Skanska also will have online access to tools that provide real-time reports on network performance and direct access to billing, ordering, status, inventory and trouble management systems. Yankee Group recently named AT&T BusinessDirect best enterprise customer portal for the second consecutive year for providing customers with the strongest online support and services experience in the industry
